Open Access Poetry event brings the joy of poetry and the spoken word to all. This event has been specially created for people with sight and hearing loss (and other disabilities) but is open to everyone with an interest in the spoken word. Featuring professional poets Donna Williams, “The Deaf Firefly” whose first language is British Sign Language (BSL); Jackie Hagan, an award winning disabled performance poet and Imogen Godwin, who finds inspiration for her work in personal experiences of disability, as well as from listening to the less heard voices in society. The event is fully accessible and will include BSL interpretation and Big Screen projection of the poems. Support dogs welcome.
Hosted by Fay Roberts & Rose Drew in conjuntion with the Wilberforce Trust and with BSL interpreter Vicci Ackroyd.
